Let’s Talk Micropigmentation

Why is Micropigmentation my preferred brow tattooing technique? I prefer it for its longevity and how natural the results are. Micropigmentation involves using a tattooing device to insert pigments into the skin’s dermal layers to fill-in sparse brows and define the shape. Micropigmentation is great for adding dimension and definition to your brows, but it’s also great for adding thickness or filling in gaps and scars for thinning brows. If you want to elevate your brows using a semi-permanent method, this technique may be perfect for you!

What Micropigmentation Can Be Used For:

  • Semi-permanent makeup (eyebrows, lip liner, eyeliner)

  • Adding pigment to the scalp to resemble hair

  • Minimize the appearance of scars

  • Adding color to areas of depigmentation (due to vitiligo)

Who Should Get Micropigmentation:

  • Those who want to improve the appearance of their brows

  • Those who have been microbladed, but want something longer lasting

  • Those who are tired of filling in their brows every morning

How Long Does it Last:

Up to three years!

Micropigmentation vs. Microblading

Both micropigmentation and microblading are semi-permanent brow techniques that are used to enhance and improve your brows. Microblading is the most widely used technique, but micropigmentation has quite a few advantages. Not sure which one is right for you? Email me and let’s chat about it and we can figure out what’s best for your needs!

Similarities:

  • Both used to enhance the look of your brows using semi-permanent tattooing

  • Non-invasive

  • Provide great results

  • Gives you natural-looking brows

Differences:

  • Micropigmentation lasts up to three years, microblading lasts up to 1.5 years.

  • Micropigmentation uses an electric tattooing machine, while microblading uses a hand-held blade.

  • Micropigmentation goes deeper into your dermal skin layers and is slightly more invasive, while microblading pigment is applied in the superficial layers.

  • Micropigmentation can be used for an array of cosmetic procedures, while microblading is solely for brows.

What to Expect With Micropigmentation?

During:

sugarrlillies-permanent-brows.jpg

Beforehand, we will thoroughly discuss the procedure, what to expect, and map out the perfect shape for your brows. I will then apply numbing cream so the procedure is more comfortable. I will then begin tattooing your brows with the pigment color that compliments your hair and skin. I will fill-in your brows, create a shape, and give dimension where needed.

After:

After designing your new beautiful brows, I will apply soothing gel and give you your post-treatment instructions. You will be a bit irritated and sore for a few days following and begin to scab, but make sure not to scratch or pick at your brows. You will fully heal over the next couple of weeks following your procedure and begin to see your brows take shape!
